Job Description:  This position is responsible for completing a broad range of  carpentry and painting projects.

 

Specific Duties: 

·        Responsible for many types of building related repairs.

·        Responsible for minor renovation projects

·        Responsible for minor painting projects.

·        Responsible for parking lot stripe painting

·        Assist other FPO trades as needed.

·        Required to wear a respirator and must be clean shaven

 

Job Requirements:

·        Strong carpentry experience

Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities, assists in promoting energy efficiency and energy marketing by implementing and overseeing university energy programs.


Promotes energy efficiency by developing and implementing university energy efficiency measures. Calculates/determines energy efficiency and savings, develops energy efficiency program strategies and makes recommendations to the university staff and cabinet by evaluating energy audit and inspection information. Obtains important information pertaining to energy efficiency on campus and in campus facilities by conducting energy audits and inspections. Job Description:  This position is responsible for supporting the Facilities Department in its mission of maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and fleet maintenance. 

Specific Duties:

·   Responsible for diagnosing and completing repairs to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems

·   Respond to environmental condition complaints

·   Respond to after-hours emergency repair calls

·   Assist with maintaining and repairing vehicle fleet and utility carts

·   Assist in managing air filter and HVAC system chemical contractors

·   Assist in managing mechanical contractors

·   Monitor energy management system for equipment efficiency and problem recognition, including after-hours monitoring from home.

·   Maintain EPA-required refrigerant use and recycle program

·   Assist the Director of Maintenance Operations with long range planning and energy saving projects.

·   Maintain universal refrigerant certification license

·   Assist with welding projects

Job Requirements:

The successful applicant must have extensive experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.  Applicant must be detail oriented and have the ability to manage routine scheduled tasks.  Must have energy management controls experience and welding experience is desirable.  Fleet maintenance, golf cart maintenance, EPA universal refrigerant license, and supervisory experience are also desirable.  Employment is contingent on the results of a background check at the point of hire.
